Frequently asked questions
What macOS versions does Bench support?
Bench runs on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. It ships as a universal binary for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Does Bench collect any data?
No. Bench has no analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, and no third-party SDKs. It does not make network calls during normal use. Everything you type or paste stays on your Mac.
Is my clipboard data safe?
Yes. Bench's smart-paste feature reads the clipboard locally and picks the most likely tool (for example, it recognises a JWT or a JSON blob). The detection is a rule-based heuristic that runs entirely on your device. It does not use AI or machine learning, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
How do I restore my purchase on a new Mac?
Open Bench, go to Preferences → Upgrade, and click Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account on the Mac App Store that you used to buy Bench. If the restore doesn't complete, email us and include your Apple Account's receipt or order ID.
Bench won't launch, or is behaving unexpectedly. What should I try first?
Quit Bench fully, then relaunch it. If the issue persists, restart your Mac and try again. If it still happens, email [email protected] with:
- Your macOS version (Apple menu → About This Mac).
- Whether your Mac has Apple silicon or Intel.
- A short description of what you were doing and what you expected.
- If possible, a screenshot.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email [email protected]. Every message is read by a human. Feature requests are genuinely welcome. Bench is a focused app, and the roadmap is shaped by what real users ask for.
