For help with JP 2K, email [email protected]. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, JP 2K version, and the steps that led to the issue. If a word has a wrong reading, translation, or picture, name the word so we can check it.

Words play in the wrong voice or stay silent

JP 2K speaks each word with a Japanese voice installed on your iPhone. If your iPhone has no Japanese voice, download one: open Settings, then choose Accessibility, Spoken Content, Voices, and Japanese. After the download finishes, return to JP 2K and play the word again.

Restoring a purchase

JP 2K is free to download. If you bought the one-time unlock and it does not appear on another iPhone or after reinstalling, open Settings in JP 2K and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account you used to buy it. Apple processes the purchase, so we never see your payment details. If the restore does not complete, email us with the order ID from your Apple receipt.

Accounts and your progress

JP 2K works without an account or sign-in. The words you have played, your quiz results, and your settings are stored on your iPhone and are included in your iPhone backups. They do not move between devices, and deleting JP 2K removes them.

Picture updates

Every word ships with its picture, so JP 2K works offline. When you open the app, or pull down on the Library to refresh, it checks zentsu.app for corrected pictures. Read the JP 2K privacy policy for what that request contains.

Word sources

The word list, readings, and English meanings come from the Tanos JLPT lists and the JMdict/EDICT dictionary files. See word data and license for credits and the terms for reusing the data.
