Privacy Policy

Return to the Dial overview.

This privacy policy applies to Dial (hereby referred to as "the Application"), published by Zentsu LLC (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Commercial service. The service is intended for use "AS IS".

The short version: Dial stores its records on your device. An in-app control lets you use the private CloudKit database attached to your Apple Account for core records, or keep those records on the device only. Weight entries and progress photos use separate local storage. The Service Provider runs no server that can read what you store in Dial.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The Application does not send your Dial records to the Service Provider. Registration with Zentsu is not required. Medications, doses, injection sites, reminder schedules, supply records, and side-effect history from a compatible file you choose to import are stored on your device. The Service Provider does not collect, receive, or have a way to see these records.

Where are my core records stored?

Your medication, dose, injection-site, reminder, supply, and imported side-effect records are stored on your device. Dial also includes a "Sync with iCloud" control in Settings. When that control is on and iCloud is available, these records can use Apple's CloudKit service and the private database tied to your Apple Account. The Service Provider operates no server, holds no copy of these records, and cannot access, read, or recover them.

Turning the in-app control off keeps these records on that device only after you next open Dial. Your device's iCloud settings also affect whether CloudKit is available. Apple's terms and privacy policy govern iCloud storage and transmission.

Where is my weight data stored?

Your weight log is kept in a separate, local-only store on your device. It is not part of the optional CloudKit storage described above and does not leave your device through the Application. If you use Dial on more than one device, weight entries on each device stay independent.

Where are progress photos stored?

Progress photos and their dates are stored in the Application's documents directory on your device. They are not part of Dial's CloudKit records. If you use the supply-label scanner, Dial processes the selected or captured label image to fill fields and does not save that label image as a supply record.

How does the Application use Health?

If you grant permission, Dial reads your body weight from Health to keep your weight log current, and can write weight entries you log in Dial back to Health. Dial does not read or write any other Health data category. Health data is never transmitted off your device to the Service Provider or to any other party. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for anything other than the Application's own weight tracking. You control this permission at any time in your device's system Health settings.

Is Dial a substitute for medical advice?

Dial is a tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It performs no dose calculations and makes no dosing recommendations of any kind. Every dose and schedule in Dial comes from information you entered or chose to import. Confirm anything about your treatment, including doses, schedules, and side effects, with your prescriber.

Does the Application send notifications?

The Application can schedule local reminders for doses and other events you configure, but only if you turn reminders on and grant notification permission. These are local notifications generated on your device from the data you entered. They are not sent from, or routed through, any Service Provider server, and no notification content is transmitted off your device.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

The Application does not collect precise information about the location of your device.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Since the Application does not transmit Dial records to the Service Provider, the Service Provider has no such records to share with third parties. Optional Dial Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. The Service Provider receives no payment-card details from those transactions.

What are my opt-out rights and how do I delete my data?

You can stop all storage of information by the Application by deleting it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your device or application marketplace. Deleting an entry removes it from Dial's active store. When the in-app iCloud control is on, deletion can be reflected through the private CloudKit database attached to your Apple Account. You can turn that control off in Dial Settings and manage the Application's data through your device's iCloud settings. You can revoke Health permission at any time in your device's Health settings. Health data already written to Health remains there under Apple's controls until you remove it. Progress photos can be deleted inside Dial.

Children

The Application is not used to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. The Service Provider encourages all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services. The Service Provider encourages parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application and/or Services, please contact the Service Provider at [email protected] so that they will be able to take the necessary actions. You must also be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).

Security

Dial does not transmit your records to the Service Provider, which limits exposure through systems we operate. Records on your device are protected by the security controls on that device. Data stored through CloudKit is protected by your Apple Account and Apple's iCloud security controls. Data in Health is protected by Apple's Health data security controls. No storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Terms of Use

Your use of the Application is also governed by the Zentsu LLC Terms of Use.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to their Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
